Edith Brown Ball, also known as "Granny" to everyone who knew her, was the daughter of the late Lattie and Ellen Payne Brown, and the widow of Ralph Ball, Sr., who died in 1965.
She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, and formerly worked at the Fireplace Restaurant and Connie Fashions.
Edith was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters and two sons;
one brother; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with two more on the way at the time of her death.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Milner; a grandson, Jeff Harrison; and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral service: Thursday, June 9, 2011, Chapel of West Funeral Home.
Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
