Clarence Thedford, 79, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at his residence.
He was a retired staff sergeant from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service, retired inspector for Dyersburg Fabrics, and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn King officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Hickman Thedford of Dyersburg; a daughter, Cindy McLean & Husband Randy of Newbern; a son, Mike Thedford of Dyersburg; a sister, Marie Lewis of Seattle, Wash.; and a granddaughter, Emilee Grace McLean of Newbern.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Tarrant and Lottie Canada Thedford; and four sisters, Frances Flieg, Louise Stanley, Genell Ables and Freda Hall.
U.S. Army Military Burial Detail will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Dyersburg Parks & Recreation, 1010 Recreation Drive, Dyersburg, TN 38024; or Dyersburg/Dyer County Dixie Youth Program, P.O. Box 1765, Dyersburg, TN 38025.
