Funeral services for Mrs. Wirt Anthony Jarrett, a native of Winterville but a resident of Jackson County for the past 56 years, were held Thursday, November 19, at two p.m. at Center Methodist Church with the Rev. Wade Munford and the Rev. Wayne Boyd officiating and interment in Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Jarrett died Wednesday, November 18 at 4:20 a.m. at her home on the Commerce Road. She was the daughter of the late William Clarke Anthony and Lula Coleman Anthony, and was the widow of J.R. Jarrett.
Pallbearers were her nephews. Bernstein Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Russell A. Lyle, Atlanta, and Mrs. T. Bender Holbrook, Cornelia; two sons, Jarrell Robins Jarrett, Jr., Athens, and Harold M. Jarrett, Jefferson; two sisters, Mrs. M.C. Cauthen, Athens, and Mrs. Julian Hale, St. Petersburg, Fla., three brothers, Marvin C. Anthony, and Allen Anthony, both of Miami, Fla., and Fred Anthony, Athens, and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Jarrett was a member of Center Methodist Church and active in church affairs until her lengthy illness.
