Janice B. Langston - SAVANNAH - Janice B. Langston, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at The Oaks of The Marshes of Skidaway Island under the care of Hospice Savannah. She was born on October 3, 1925 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania to Eva and Frank W. Boorse. After graduating from North Penn High School in 1943 she went to work for Hunter Spring Press. It was during World War II that she met her future husband, Jack Langston, who was stationed in Wildwood, NJ. They later married and returned to his hometown of Savannah, where she became a homemaker. She was a caring and devoted wife and mother. In her later years she spent many happy hours quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Frank Boorse; husband of 60 years, Jack Langston; brother, Jay Boorse and sister, Bonnie Kuhn. Surviving are her sister, Jackie (Tom) Bomboy of Leesburg, FL; son and daughter, Stephen (Linda) Langston and Jan Langston, all of Savannah, GA; granddaughters, Jessica (Chandler) McClellan of Arlington, VA, Stephanie (Casey) Willmore of Pullman, WA; nephews, Tom Bomboy of Farmingdale, NJ, Scott Bomboy of Perkasie, PA; and nieces, Mary Jaye Holcombe of Souderton, PA, Lisa Jacob of Orange Park, FL, and Brenda Naegel of Madison, CT. The funeral service was held earlier this week at Bonaventure Cemetery. The family would like to thank the entire staff of The Oaks Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care provided and for their support and friendship. For more than a year, their devotion has been unwavering. We would also express our gratitude to Hospice Savannah for providing additional support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to either Hospice Savannah (P. O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416) or a charity of your choice.
