Eileen Fay Gastineau nee Sellers was born Friday, November 26, 1915 at
Davisville, Mo., a daughter of the late Minyard Frank Sellers and Lucy Emma
(Britton) Sellers.
She entered eternal rest Monday, October 28, 2002, in the Phelps County
Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Mo., at the age of 86 years, 11 months and
2 days.
On August 3, 1936 at Centerville, Mo., she was united in marriage to Joy D.
Gastineau. One daughter, Patricia Ann Gastineau, was born to this union.
They were married for fifty-eight years at the time of his death, May 30,
1994.
Eileen accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was
baptized June 13, 1948, by her Uncle, Rev. John L. Britton and became a
member of Bates Creek Baptist Church. At the time of her death she attended
Trinity Baptist Church, Bridgeton, Mo.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joy, she was preceded in death
by one brother Delmar Lee Sellers, (killed in action, May 1944, Salerno,
Italy), one sister, Dolly Sellers, brothers-in-law Noah R. Cooley and
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thelma and Roy Adam.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing is her daughter, Patricia Ann
(Patsy) Gastineau of Rolla, Mo.; one brother, William R. (Bill) Sellers and
wife Melba of Waynesville, Mo.; one sister, Marie Cooley of Bridgeton, Mo.;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Martha Gastineau of
Bismarck, Mo., Carl and Shirley Gastineau of New Bloomfield, Mo., Ernestine
and Joel Botkin of Farmington, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Eileen Fay Gastineau lay in state 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at
the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2002, in the
Britton Chapel with Rev. Elmer Turnbough officiating. Finis Barr provided
musical selections.
Committal prayers and interment were in Sellers Cemetery, Dillard, Mo.
Serving as pallbearers were Don Cooley, Jim Dalton, Gilbert Sellers, J.
Craig Sellers, Kaleb Sellers and Larry Sexton.
Arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Mo.
