Daughter of Barzillai (or Barzilla) Getchell and Phebe Ann Pinkham. On June 8, 1869 Margaret was united in marriage to Abel Teple Laforge in New York City, NY. Their six children, all born in New York City, were:

Louis, b. 14 May 1870;
Laurence, b. 17 Sep 1871;
Adrian, b. 29 Sep 1873;
Lily Suse, b. 16 Mar 1875;
Rose Margaret, b. 16 Mar 1875; &
Leon Laforge, b. 27 Oct 1877.

Louis, Adrian and Lily Suse Prentice are also buried in Woodland Cemetery.
