Gerald P. Mackey, Sr., "Jerry", 79, passed away October 22, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Wilmington, DE on June 5th, 1931 and lived in the Port St. Lucie area for 17 years.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

He was a retired detective sergeant from the Wilmington, Delaware Police Department. He was a charter member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

He was a former member of the Delaware Association of Police and the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Joseph Mackey, and sisters Rita Tierney and Betty Mackey.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church in St. Lucie West or Treasure Coast Hospice.

SERVICES: Visitation will be Monday, October 25th from 7-9pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in St. Lucie West. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 26th at 12:30pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wilmington, DE. Arrangements under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Homes - Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel in Port Saint Lucie.
