Obituary (Legacy.com)
Charles William Scott of Fallbrook, California, passed away on January 9, 2010. He was 69 years old. Charlie, the son of Pasme Ellen Beach Scott, was born in Bowlegs, Oklahoma, but grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

After graduating Midwest City High School in 1958, Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving four years. He subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Navy, making it a career. Charlie retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1979 after serving on six ships and a fighter squadron throughout the Vietnam era conflict.

Charlie attended college in San Diego, earning a degree in English. He was later employed by the Federal Government, retiring in April of 2000 from the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City where he worked as a writer-editor in the Multi-Media Department of the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center.

After retirement, Charlie and his wife, Sandy (Freienmuth), relocated from Oklahoma and settled in Fallbrook.

His hobbies were sports, particularly watching his beloved Oklahoma Sooners football team. Charlie's interests also included classic cars, owning a 1955 Ford Victoria and a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. After moving to Fallbrook, he became heavily involved in senior softball. He played in the Fallbrook Senior League, the North County Competitive League, as well as managing his own tournament team. But one of his favorite accomplishments was writing lyrics for gospel music and his association with well-known gospel singer/song writer Rick Founds of Fallbrook.

Besides being survived by his wife of 34 years, Charlie is also survived by two daughters, Sheila Scott of San Francisco and Tara Scott Schmitz of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and her husband, Ron, along with three grandsons, Jared, James, and Seth, and one granddaughter, Alyssa.

Charlie was a member of Calvary Chapel of Fallbrook and was very close to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Interment will be in the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery in Fallbrook, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
