US Congressman. He served in the United States Army during the Spanish-American War as a Private in Company E, 1st Louisiana Volunteer Infantry. In 1908 he was elected as a Democrat to represent Louisiana's 6th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. He served from 1909 until his death in office in a train accident in 1912.
