Funeral services for James C. Alexander, 80, a retired independent oil and gas production businessman who died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 1333 Coble, where he was living with his son, Doyle, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Phillips United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Ellzey officiating.

Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home of Borger.

Mr. Alexander was born Dec. 20, 1890, in Mechantesville, Pa. He moved to Borger from Bartlesville, Okla., in 1926 and worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. until 1929 when he became engaged in his own oil and gas production business.

His wife, Cassie, preceded him in death in 1964.

He was a Methodist and a past member of the Borger Rotary Club. He had been owner of the Hutchinson County Drilling Co. a number of years.

Survivors include three other sons, Keith of Reno, Nev., Gale E. of Borger, and Stanley W., of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Wanda Alexander of El Paso; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ellis Tisdale, Robert Smock, Marion Mitchell, Aaron Tabor, Dan E. Bergen, and Cecil Rentfrow.

Honorary pallbearers are Floyd McSpadden, Bob Lindsey, Ralph Johnson, Jack Latimer, K. I. June, Jess Wilson, and Tony Vaughn.
