Edwin moves to Chicago with his brother William and his wife Minnie in 1899. He shows up in the 1900 Cook Co., Chicago, Ill census as a single man living with Wm. & Minnie. He next shows up in the 1920 McLean Co., Bloomington, Ill. census has a widower and living with his sister in law, Minnie and her son, Charles (my grandfather). In the 1920 census, he has three children, Edna 10, and Francis 5, living in the McLean Girls Industrail Home. And Charles D. Gill age 8, living in Warren Co., Glens Falls, NY with his uncle Charles W. Gill and aunt Susie Combs Gill. All the census say the children were born in NY. He married Beulah F. Deming and was a widower by 1920.
