OBITUARY: Taylor Funeral Service

Renata Frieda Osborn, 98, of Delta, Colo., passed away May 30, 2011.
She was born December 31, 1912 in Lowry, S.D. to Reverend George Friedrich and Renata Amanda Hanselmann.
In 1937 Renata received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado Teachers’ College, Greeley, Colo. She taught in a one room school in Kansas before moving to Delta, Colo., where she taught Home Economics at the high school.
On June 16, 1940 she married Thomas Ward Osborn Jr. of Delta, Colo. Her father, a Lutheran minister, officiated over the ceremony held in Greeley, Colo. After marrying, she dedicated her life to being a wife and mother.
Renata'’s faith was the center of her life. She grew up in the American Lutheran Church. As a girl, she played the organ. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Delta, Colo., where she served as a deacon, an elder, and sang in the choir. She was a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Mariners Club.
Renata saw God'’s calling for her as one of discipleship – “to visit the sick and weary, and to give aid to those who were in need. She was a member of PEO and was a Pink Lady.
She is survived by two daughters, Gretta Trotter of Palmer, Alaska and Renata Replogle of Cedaredge, Colo.; one son, Tom Osborn of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hertha Schmandt of Severna Park, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents, four sisters, two brothers, and a daughter.
