Christopher C. Dukes, age 35, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Watertown. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with the Reverend Mark Chapman of the LaBolt Covenant Church officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel and on Monday prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Brent Wiseman, Steve Juntunen, Dale Kowalski, Kris Pekelder, Kevin Pies and Darrin Cordell.
Christopher Cherokee Dukes was born on July 15, 1975 to Jefferson E. and Beverly J. (Bear) Dukes in Sisseton, SD. He grew up in South Shore where he attended school.
Christopher was a firefighter in in the Black Hills for a few years, and most recently was a welder at Angus Palm Industries in Watertown. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and his dogs, Daisy, Hannah and Sierra. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, mountain biking and working out.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Selchert; his grandfathers, Verner Jensen and Sylvester Dukes; his uncle, Bennie Smith; and his aunt, Lynda Harris.
Christopher is survived by his parents, Jefferson and Beverly of Watertown; his brothers, William (Billie) Dukes of Las Vegas, NV, and Shawn (Sarah) Dukes, Stacy (Vicki) Dukes, Kevin Dukes and Corey Dukes all of Watertown.
