Graveside funeral services will be held in the West Side District Cemetery for longtime Buttonwillow resident, Rena Cates, 85, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Her nephew will speak at the services.
She was born in Arkansas November 30, 1903, and died in a Bakersfield hospital Wednesday evening February 15, 1989.
She had lived in Buttonwillow for the last 52 years.
She is survived by a sister, and a brother, five nephews and two nieces.
Those who wish to pay their respects may do so Saturday from noon until 5:30 p.m. and again Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until noon at Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
