On Apr. 24, 1739 of record at Norwich, Conn., James m. the widow Mary (Tracy) Clark, dau. of David Tracy and Sarah Parrish (q.v. Parish), b. of record Nov. 25, 1718 at Preston, Conn. She was the widow of James Clark of Norwich, who she had m. Oct. 26, 1737 at Norwich. James and Mary had two recorded children at Norwich: James, Jr. and Lot, latter who died in infancy at Windham, Conn. The widow Mary (Tracy)(Clark)Luce later m. Aug. 6, 1767 at the Scotland Society Cong. Church at Windham as his 2nd wife, Capt. John Whiting, by whom she had no known children.

• i. James Luce, Jr., b. Nov. 28, 1741 at Norwich, Conn., d. Aug. 6, 1775 (g.s.); m. May 13, 1762 at the Scotland Soc. Church then at Windham, Conn., Zillah Cary, dau. of Lieut. Benajah Cary and Deborah Perkins, b. Dec. 5, 1743 at Windham, Conn. There are no recorded or otherwise known children of this marriage. Zillah subsequently m. Jan. 22, 1777 at the Scotland Society Church then at Windham as his only wife, Capt. Jonathan Kingsley, s. of Salmon Kingsley and Lydia Burgess, b. May 15, 1753 at Windham, Conn.
• ii. Lot Luce,b. July 13, 1743 at Norwich, Conn., d. in infancy June 6, 1749 (g.s.)
