Mrs. Pliny Gould

Mrs. Lula (Bardwell) Gould, 72, wife of Pliny Gould of Shelburne, died last night at 11 o'clock at her home following a long period of failing health.

She was born in South Deerfield, Feb. 19, 1876, the daughter of George and Jane (Stowell) Bardwell and had lived in Shelburne for more than 50 years. Mr. and Mrs. Gould, who were married on Feb. 23, 1898 in a double wedding ceremony with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davenport of Shelburne at the Gould homestead in the Patten district, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in February. She was a member of the Shelburne Congregational church and the Ladies Aid society.

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Christine Gould, at home, a son, Robert of Shelburne, four grandchildren, a brother, Cyrus Bardwell of Shelburne, a half brother, Conrad Bardwell of Columbus, O., and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Johnson funeral home. Burial will be in the Franklin cemetery in Shelburne.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be tonight and tomorrow night.
