Carl Edward Clugh, 56, of Carlisle, PA passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. He was born in Chambersburg, PA to Nelda Jean Davis Clugh of Shippensburg and the late Lawrence A.W. Clugh. He graduated from Shippensburg High School, Class of 1970 and served in the Vietnam War during his 10 ½ years in the US Army. He was employed by the Elks Lodge, Carlisle, as a bartender. He was past commander of the VFW #6168 and a member of the American Legion Post 223 and Minnequa Club 375, all of Shippensburg. He was also a member of Elks BPOE 528, White Circle Club, AmVets, and Family Fraternity Moose Lodge # 761, all of Carlisle.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Saundra K. Barbour Clugh; his son, Edwin Clugh of Carlisle; a daughter, Jessica J. Clugh of Shippensburg; two step-daughters, Tracy L. Bollman and husband Daniel of Gardners, PA and Shawnta M. Boyer of Carlisle; two brothers, David of Carlisle and Larry of Shippensburg; two sisters, Nancy Clugh and Peggy Vogelsong both of Shippensburg; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Hollinger Funeral Home, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA with Rev. Keith A. Searfoss officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home with an Elks service at 8:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the Elks BPOE #578 Wednesday following services.
