MINTER CITY - M. G. 'Bill' Murphree, 82, retired farmer, died Tuesday at North Sunflower County Hospital in Ruleville after a short illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville with burial in Lehrton Cemetery there.
Mr. Murphree, the husband of Bessie Mae Chapius Murphree, also leaves a daughter, Martha Jean Atkins of Memphis; three sons, C. K. Murphree of Independence, La., and M. G. Murphree Jr. and Bobby J. Murphree, both of Ruleville; two sisters, Lucille Britt and Ruth Caffey, both of Ruleville; a brother, Ishmael Murphree of Grenada, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
