Frederick Rose, resident of Buffalo community for 48 years, passed away at Buffalo Memorial hospital Wednesday morning, December 26.

Mr. Rose was born in Germany on November 19, 1867. He was one of the eleven children of Frederick and Louise Rose. In his infancy he was baptized into the Christian faith.

In 1876 at the age of 9 he came to America with his parents, settling in Carver county. Later they moved to Winsted where he received his religious instruction and was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran church by Pastor Kolbe.

On March 13, 1896 at the age of 29, Mr. Rose was married to Annie Beise. They made their home at Lake Minnetonka on Halstad's Bay. Four children were born to them.

In 1907 the deceased and his family settled on a farm between Buffalo and Delano, and in 1924 they moved to Buffalo, where they lived ever since.

Mr. Rose became ill on November 20 of this year and was taken to the Buffalo Memorial hospital Christmas Day. Here he passed away on Wednesday morning, December 26, at 6:00 a.m. He reached the age of 84 years, 1 month and 7 days.

He is survived by his wife, Annie; a daughter, Mrs. Howard T. Lamke of Minneapolis; three sons, Harry of Minneapolis, Elmer of Eden Prairie, and Erving of Rockford.

Others of the immediate family who mourn his passing are: four sisters, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mrs. Al Holland, Mrs. Emil Manthey and Mrs. Emil Rucks; three brothers, William Rose, John Rose and Val Rose; also six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. from St. John's Lutheran church. Pastor E. R. Berwald officiated at the church and also at the graveside service in Lakeview cemetery.

Pallbearers were Clarence Rose, Walter Rose, Herbert Beise, Harold Rose, Clarence Smith and Gilbert Lauman.
