Enrique Orlando Cardenas (Henry), 79 returned to Heaven Jan. 20, at Mountain West Hospital from pneumonia.

Henry was born Feb. 13, 1929, in Ranchos de Taos, N.M. to Benjamin and Josefita. He moved to Tooele in 1966 with his family and worked at the Smelter and the Tooele School District. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was proud of his country.

Dad enjoyed camping, telling stories, jokes, playing his harmonica and whittling wood toys for the kids.

He is survived by his children: Edna (Matt) Lopez, Toby (Stacy) Cardenas, Herbert (Doreen) Cardenas, Jimi Cardenas and Monica (Scott) Lee; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren ;and two sisters Elvira (Bolivar) Quintana and Manuelita (Leroy) Pacheco. He preceded in death by his daughter Doris, his parents and siblings Simonita, Benedito, Evila, Florverto, Eloy and Luis.

Dad was always in great spirits and brought happiness to everyone around him.

Services will be held at St. Marguerite's Parish. The viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22. Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Tooele City Cemetery following the service.
