Joseph F. Gibbons
Hanover – Joseph F. Gibbons, 89, husband of Mrs. Mary E. Gibbons, died at 1:45 p.m. yesterday at the home of his son, John A. Gibbons, Hanover RD 3, with whom he resided.
Mr. Gibbons was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gibbons of this area. He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of St. Paul's (Dub's) Union Church and Sunday school, near here.
Surviving, besides his wife, are six children, Mrs. Mary Senft and Mrs. Eva Goodling, both of York; George F. Gibbons, Dundalk, Md.; Mrs. Edna Thoman, Glen Rock RD 2; Mrs. Emma Rhodes, Funkstown, Md., and John A. Gibbons, Hanover RD 3; 21 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Jackson and Womer Funeral Home, 205 Carlisle Street. His pastor, Rev. Harvey M. Light, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.

Couple Wed 50 Years Honored
Hanover – Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gibbons, Hanover RD 2, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently with a dinner at their home. They were married November 30, 1902, in the West Manheim Lutheran parsonage, Pleasant Street, by Rev. J. A. Metzger. Mrs. Gibbons is the former Mary E. Boyer.
They are the parents of these children: John Gibbons, Hanover RD 2; George Gibbons, Dundalk, Md.; Mrs. Richard Rhodes, Funkstown, Md.; Mrs. William Thoman, Brodbeck RD; Mrs. Nevin Goodling, York; Mrs. William Senft, York, and the late Luther Gibbons. They have 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Attending the dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. George Gibbons and daughters, Darlyn and Aletha; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rhodes and daughters, Helen and Arlene; Mr. and Mrs. William Thoman and children, Anna and Larry; Mr. and Mrs. Nevin Goodling; Mr. and Mrs. William Senft.
