Deacon Behr was born on April 9, 1943, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Earned his Eagle Scout, one of his proudest accomplishments, and has always enjoyed the outdoors doing such things as camping, fishing, and hunting.

Entered the U.S Coast Guard and served 4 and 1/2 years. After being discharged from the Coast Guard he joined the Galveston Police Department and served three years.

Married his wife Sandra on May 18, 1968. They had three children, Roger "Glenn", Tammy Kay, and Bryan Jason. Moved to Austin in 1972 and joined the Austin Police Department.

Roger retired from the Police Department in 2000. From there he and Sandra moved to Pagosa Springs, CO, where he served and extensively helped dedicate their new Church, John Paul II.

One thing he will always be remembered for is his giving nature and volunteering to even the smallest of causes. In July of 2009 he celebrated 25 years as a Deacon. We will really miss being able to go to him for answers.
