Country Music Singer. Known for her flamboyant style, and colorful costumes, she started singing with her family in the late 1930's, and with her brothers formed the band "Maddox Brothers and Rose" that was popular in the 1940's and 1950's. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Art Gallery, and the Alabama State Country Music Hall of Fame. She continued singing into the 1980's, receiving a Grammy nomination for her CD "$35 and a Dream".
