EARLY YEARS & MARRIAGE: He also was raised in the township of Matteson and in 1924 was called to serve in the United States Army. On Feb. 18, 1943, Clarence was united in marriage to Marilyn McMillan in Palo Pinto, Texas. Upon discharge from the Army in 1945, Clarence and Marilyn returned to live in the township of Belle Plaine.
INTERESTS-EMPLOYMENT: Clarence was employed with the FWD Corporation in Clintonville until his retirement. Marilyn preceded her husband in death on March 22, 1997. Clarence was active with the Belle Plaine School Board, past president of the Cloverleaf Lake Association and Cloverleaf Lake Sanitary District, served as part-time deputy sheriff and deputy conservation warden for Shawano County. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass, where he had served as president and elder and was a very enthusiastic sports fan.
SURVIVORS: Survivors include: his daughter, Susan Ehlert, Madison; his son, Lee Ehlert Sr., Alaska; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Dorothy Fredrick, Clintonville, Violet Robley, Shawano; one brother, Edward (Betty) Ehlert, Clintonville.
PRECEDED BY: He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn, two sisters, Frieda and Margaret, and three brothers, Herman, Walter and Hubert.
FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 18, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass, with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Embarrass. Friends may call at the church only from 10 a.m. on Monday until the time of the service.The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
