Mrs. George H. Payne, 85. Colonial Hotel, widow of a prominent Omaha real estate man, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Mrs. Payne had been active in the work of the Visiting Nurses Association and of-the First Central Congregational Church.
Mr. Payne, who died in 1937, founded the Payne Investment Company, considered the largest land development, and colonization firm in the country. He was organizer and first president of the Florence Home.
Mrs. Payne was noted as a gardener. Her last home at 3402 Lincoln Boulevard had terraced flower beds and cherry and apple trees.
She is survived by three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services will be at 4 p. m. Monday at the tiurkct Chapel, 1h» Rev. Harold Janes officiating. I Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
