Husband of Martha Jane (Finlaw) Nunn Lynch (1857-1926). James and Martha were married on January 16, 1879 in Greene County Ohio. They had at least one child together, John William Nunn. James was married previously to Mary Elizabeth (Bernard) Nunn Wilson (1837-1905) on July 12, 1857 in Clinton County, Ohio. He was the father of Reason, Martha, William, Milton and Charles Nunn with Mary Bernard. James' second wife was Jennie (Houser) Nunn. James and Jennie were married on March 5, 1876 in Clinton County, Ohio. James was a Civil War veteran. He enlisted on July 9, 1861 in Company G, 11th Ohio Infantry and transferred to Company H, 11th Ohio Infantry Battalion on June 21, 1864 where he was mustered out on June 11, 1865. He then joined Company D, Ohio 31st Infantry on June 11, 1865. James was in several major battles of the Civil War including the Second Bull Run, Antietam, Chickamauga and Missionary Ridge. James was the son of William and Nancy Nunn.
