Burton was born March the 8th, 1849 at Spring Creek, Missouri, the son of Josiah and Betsy Burton, who with other brothers and sisters preceded him in death many years ago, and departed this life at 11:10 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 1935 making him 86 years 2 months and 24 days old. Mr. Burton was married to Mary Evaline Holt on December 13, 1878, she passed away March 12, 1927. He was laid to rest in New Salem Cemetery near Owensville, MO.
