John Henry Bangert died last Saturday morning, July 19, from apoplexy, Mr. and Mrs. Bangert were on their way to their daughter's home and when crossing the Smoky bridge, Mr. Bangert had car trouble in making the hill just south of the bridge. In stooping over to make an adjustment he collapsed and died instantly. John Henry Bangert was born August 26, 1848, at Dietel, Russia, and came to Russell city or on the farm south of town. For the past several years they have made their home with their children, who live south of the Smoky River. At the time of his death he was 75 years, 10 months, and 22 days old. Mr. and Mrs. Bangert had four children, two of whom preceded Mr. Bangert in death; [George]Henry Bangert who died six years ago, and Sophia Bangert who died five years ago. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Michel and Mrs. Jacob Flegler, 24 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Michel and Mrs. Hettinger, of Greeley (Greeley) Colo. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon with Rev. John Shue, pastor of the south German Methodist Church, in charge. Burial was made in the cemetery [Ebenezer M. E.
