Former Ordite Dies in Friend
A former Ordite, Marie Johnson, died Sunday July 25, 1982 in Friend, Nebraska at the age of 89.
Marie was born April 28, 1893 in Ord Nebraska to Jacob and Emilie Petersen Johnson. She received her education at District #12 in Valley County. Most of her life was spent on a farm north of Ord. For the past several years she had made her home in Friend.
She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ord and a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include one niece, Emilie Farrens of Lincoln and five nephews, Brian Laursen of Japan, Erland Laursen of Salem, OR, Harold Laursen of Corvallis, OR, Robert Laursen of Eugene OR and Paul Laursen of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 28 1982 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ord with Rev. Paul H. Konig of Cordova Officiating. Burial was in the Ord Cemetery.
