Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Danish Lutheran Church in Ord for Mrs Anna Emilie Johnson, 88 year old farm wife and mother, who died at her home 6 miles north of Ord.
The services were in charge of Hastings-Pearson Mortuary, Reverand C. Jeppesen officiated. Interment followed in the Ord City Cemetery.
Valborg Aagaard and James Aagaard accompied by Anna Aagaard sang at the rites . Pallbearers were Chris Johnson, Jens Hansen, William Freeman, Peter Rasmussen, Peter Hollander and Ray Vanslyke.
Mrs Johnson was born Febr. 5 1866 in Hyllested Denmark. She emigrated to The US with her parents when she was 15 yrs old. For a while the family lived in Omaha. Later they moved to Valley county where Mrs Johnson's parents bought a farm.
In Febr. 1882 she married Jacob Johnson then an Ord blacksmith. He died in 1896 following an injury. Mrs, Johnson then kept home for her father and in 1906 she moved to her farm where she has lived since.
She was a member of the Lutheran church since baptism and was one of the charter members of the Danish Lutheran church here when it was organized in 1897.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie at home and Mrs Bena Laursen of Ord, two nephews whom she reared; Monty Petersen of Waco TX and Peter Petersen of Wyo. A sister, Mrs Marie Aagaard of Ord and 6 grandchildren.
Anna Emilie's parents were Peter Larsen and Anne Marie Nielsdatter Larsen.
