Susannah was the daughter of William Palmes and Anne Humphrey.
Her mother had remarried and moved back to England by 1662. Susannah would have been born sometime prior to those events.
There is confussion over who her grandmother is: Elisabeth Pelham, was the second wife of Col. John Humphrey Esq. Anne was born & baptized in 1625, was 5 yrs old when Col Humphrey married a 3rd time to Lady Clinton in 1630.
Elizabeth Pelham's parents were Lady Elizabeth West and Sir Herbert Pelham. Lady Elizabeth West's parents were Lady Anne Knollys and Sir Thomas West Kt, 2nd Lord de la Warr, MP.

Elizabeth had 12 children w Herbert Pelham including Elizabeth, born at Hellingly, 27 Apr 1604. Elizabeth Pelham married John Humphrey, Gent. of Chaldon, Co. Dorset.
The Visitation of the County of Dorset in 1623 give the pedigree of John Humphrey on page 57 and Pelham on page 75.
Magna Carta Ancestry by Douglas Richardson , pages 884 gives child of Elizabeth Pelham and Col John Humphrey as Anne Humphrey who married 2x. 1st William Palmes, Gent. of Ardfinan co Tipperary, Ireland were parents of Susannah, wife of Samuel Avery.
Anne Humphrey married 2nd Rev. John Myles of Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales. They had 2 sons, John and Rev. Samuel. Anne Humphrey (Palmes) Myles died at Swansea, Mass, 17 Dec 1693.
