"Towner Francis Jones is my paternal grandfather. He fought in World War I, first in the Armee Francaise, as an ambulance driver. He later fought in the US Army. He received the Croix de Guerre from France, and the Order of St. Nicholas from Russia. An avid equestrian all his life, he was a member of the Fairfax and Loudoun Hunt clubs."
