Nelson's mother is Gertrude M. Burns who died in about 1904. Who was the second wife of Charles Nelson Abbey, they were married on 14 March 1900 in Worth County, Missouri

April 10, 2005 - Spoke with the daughter of Nelson Abbey. She confirms that her dad was born in Missouri and that his mother was Gertude M. Burns and that Laura Burns Pettis was his aunt. That Nelson's mother died when he was about 3 years old and that the Burns and Abbey families moved from Missouri to Montana. She also said that Nelson's dad was a Bapitist Minister along with being a rural mail carrier in Hamitlon Montana. She also told me that her Father had Alzheimer's and that her brother has passed away and that he is buried in Greenwood Memorial Terrace. She said that her brother got is first degree from the U of W, than got other degrees at Eugene Oregon, than went to work at WSU.

ABBEY Nelson (Nels) - Passed away Sept 7th in a local hospital. His home formerly W3301 Alice. Survived by 1 son Kenneth Abbey, Pullman, Wash.; 1 daughter, Mrs. Beverly Black, Beaverton, Ore.; 6 grandchildren, Shannon, Nelson and Erin Abbey, Ronald, Sherry and Marcia Black; brothers and sisters including Francis Abbey, Spokane; Ivan Abbey, Bremerton, Wash.; Mrs. Ina Cook, Missoula, Montana. Several nieces and mewphews. Member of Audubon Park Lodge No. 272 F & AM; Scottish Rite Bodies; Satir Kahn Grotto. Former member of Spokane Gyro Club; Spokane Elk Lodge, No. 2281. Resident of Spokane over 50 years. The THORNHILL GERAGHTY & LANGBEHN FUNERAL HOME, N 1322 MONROE ST., is intrusted with his last rites.
