DAVENPORT - Our earthbound angel has found her wings. Gail C. Foster, 48, died early Friday morning at her home at the Handicapped Development Residential Center, Davenport. A service celebrating her life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 21, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cunnick-Collins.
Gail was born September 27, 1958, in Davenport to John and Leah Foster. She lived with her parents until 1991, when she moved to the Residential Center. Although Gail was unable to see or speak, her bright eyes and mannerisms communicated her feelings with family and friends in many ways. She loved listening to music and enjoyed being in large group activities with lots of interesting sounds. Gail went camping and attended ballgames with her family and went to many concerts and community events with HDC staff members. She was a long-time season ticket holder for the Quad-City Symphony.
Survivors include her mother, Leah; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Nancy; niece, Teresa; and her many friends at HDC, especially staff members at the Residential Center who became her extended family and provided loving care over the past 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her infant twin sister, Vail, and her father, John.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Handicapped Development Center Capital Campaign.
