Bernice Kenyon (nee: Nemitz) age 82 of Chardon, Ohio, passed away on Dec. 25, 2010 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 24, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Chardon in 1956. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed babysitting school children for many years. She married Paul O. Kenyon July 12, 1949. Mrs. Kenyon loved raising her children, being with her grandchildren, and going to activities they were involved in. She was a longtime member of the Chardon United Methodist Church, Chardon United Methodist Seniors (CHUMS), the United Methodist Women, Deborah Circle, involved in coffee hour, luncheons and the Golden Ager's dinners. Mrs. Kenyon was a member of the Chardon Garden Club, and loved playing on three pinochle card teams. She was caring and loving and was loved in return by her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing and roller skating with Paul.
Survivor by her husband, Paul O. Kenyon of Chardon, Ohio; son, Paul (Sue) Kenyon of Canton, Ohio; daughters, Patsy (Tom) Fritz of Parkman, Ohio, Pamela (Gary) Skoch of Munson Twp., Ohio, Paulette Callahan of Chardon, Ohio; grandchildren, Tom Fritz, Emily and Abby Kenyon and Kyle Callahan; brother, Paul (Jane) Nemitz of Lyndhurst, Ohio; sisters, Patsy (William) VonDuyke of Brunswick, Ohio, Shirley Bugelski of Cleveland, Ohio; brother-in-law, Gino DiCaprio of Lakewood, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Esther Hannaford of Rocky River, Ohio, Beverly Nemitz of Mentor, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Daisy (nee: Popowski) Nemitz; brothers, Charles Hannaford and Melford Nemitz; sisters, Dorothy Wolf and Flora DiCaprio; brother-in-law, Steven Bugelski
Funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. in Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North Street, Chardon, Ohio with Rev. Henry Woodruff, PhD, retired and Rev. Dan Drew of the church officiating. Visitation Wednesday, Dec. 29, 5-8 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (on St Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, Ohio. Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, Ohio. The family wishes to thank all her Doctors, Nurses, Nurses Aids, Hospice of Care Corp. and Neighbors for their help and care.
