Anna "Gertie" Albers Hocker, 86, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003. She was a native of Union County, KY, born July 26, 1917, to the late Annetta Crawley and John Martin Gough. A retired employee of Naval Ordnance in Louisville, she was an Ursuline Associate and a resident of the Marian Home. "Gertie" did much volunteer work in her life, including Briarwood Nursing Home, Shively Area Ministries, Kosair Children's Hospital and the Ursuline Sisters Craft Shop. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 35 years, Robert Earl Albers Sr.; four brothers, Clarence, Lyle, Vincent and John Gough; a sister, Agnes Montgomery; and a stepdaughter, Joan Hocker Miller. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, C. Leonard Hocker; two sons, Robert Earl Albers Jr. (Theresa) of Findlay, OH, and Gary Albers (Joy) of Nineveh, IN; two daughters, Sister Betty Albers, OSU, and Mary Jeanne (Lincoln) Jim; three stepsons, Charles L. Hocker Jr. (Janie) of Greenwood, IN, Melvin Lee Hocker (Trish) of Warner Robbins, GA, and Carl Wayne Hocker Sr. (Sharon) of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Joe Gough of Louisville and Donnie Gough of Houston, TX; two sisters, Regina Williams of Louisville and Loretta Cavalier of Huntsville, AL; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and eight step-great-grand-children. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2040 Buechel Bank Rd., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman & Sons Family Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Memorial gifts may be made to the Ursuline Sisters on Lexington Rd.
