Grandpa lived in what used to be Coldwater, Arizona which is the English saying of Agua Fria. Coldwater no longer exists and is now a ghost town. The actual town is now Avondale. We believe that John and his older brother Archie are interned here.

During WW1 John's assignment was to deliver the meals to the soldiers in the trenches and there were't enough gas masks to go around, therefore he was exposed to mustard gas. John recieved a medical pension for his chronic lung disorder due to the exposure, but in reality, he had tuberculosis and was in denial of this fact. TB back then was considered the way we used to feel about AIDS (kind of a taboo illness).

In 1936, John was the US Champion Fiddler. The Fiddle was brought back from France but is gone now. As a teenager, John was part of a family band (Green Family Players) where he and his sister Hellen played fiddle, and brother Prue on the guitar.

John and Olive had three children:
1.Smith Bernard Green 1921-2010 (burial in Salt Lake City, Utah)
2. Aubray Dale Green 1924 - still living
3. Audrey Florene Green 1930-2006 (Cremated with ashes spread over the Buffalow River, Arkansas)
