William and brother Charles Beebe moved from Minnesota to the Edgerton area about 1883 and started farming. William was also a harness maker, which he continued after moving to Platte in 1899.

The Shindler family also moved from Minnesota to the Edgerton area in the early 1800s to try farming in a new area. (1885 census)

Margaret Shindler had 3 children with William. She left him and the children in the 1890's. Margaret met and married a man named Green and had a child with him in Nebraska. He died about 1900 and Margaret remained in Nebraska and many years later, died there.

Will married Pearl Hawkins in 1900 and also was a saloon keeper in the new town of Platte. He lived the rest of his life in Platte except for a few years in Sioux Falls, SD where Pearl was from.
