Effie HOLLAND, Age 85, of Hamilton, died Monday, May 07, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield. She was born August 26, 1921 in Hamilton the daughter of Bascomb and Nancy (Eversole) Hornsby. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilson Browning, KIA in the South Pacific during WWII. She then married John W. Holland on February 23, 1952 in Hamilton and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church. She is survived by two daughters: Judy Logsdon and husband Joe of Hamilton, Dorothy Kissell and husband Herb of Culver, Indiana; a son, Jerry Browning and wife Nell of Knoxville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren: Jeff and Joel Logsdon, Jessica Clark, Jordan Browning, Debbie Hensler, Beckie DeVliegher, Jon, Paul and Andrew Kissell and Angela Sobieck and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, William Hornsby and Robert Hornsby and a sister, Mae Flinchum. Prayers will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home to be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter in Chains Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton with Father Timothy Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.
