Funerals in Same Family Pastor's Last and First
The last official act Rev. Hoyt M. Dobbs performed at Central Methodist Church, Kansas City, was to conduct services at the funeral of Mrs. J. A. Beagle's mother. He overstayed his time as pastor to hold the service.
Rev. Mr. Dobbs arrived in Fort Worth Wednesday morning and his first official act as pastor of the First Methodist Church was to hold the funeral of W. T. Bartholomew; 1650 South Adams street, son-in-law of Mrs. Beagle, Wednesday afternoon.
He began his local pastorate ahead of scheduled time because of the death. He will preach his first sermon as pastor in the First Methodist Church next Sunday morning, succeeding Rev. John A. Rice, who has been assigned to a pastorate in St. Louis.
