COLBY -- John F. Wieland, 88, of Colby, died Thursday, June 1, 2011. He was born April 12, 1923, in Sedalia, Mo. He was a farmer. His wife, Ila Lee Wieland, preceded him in death. He is survived by sons, Denis (Diana) Wieland and Scott (Cathy) Wieland, all of Colby; a daughter, Gera Lou (Wayne) Woofter, of Hays; a brother, Bill, of Colby, a sister, Druscilla Washburn, of Colby; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Harrison Chapel, Colby. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, at the chapel. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, Colby. Memorials may be made to Colby Community College Endowment Fund, in care of any Colby bank or the chapel.
