Obituary of Thomas Eli "Buster" Blades Sr.

Mr. Thomas Eli "Buster" Blades, Sr., age 77, of the Fountainbleau Community in Ocean Springs, MS. died Wednesday, June 1, 2011, in Ocean Springs.

Mr. Blades was born in Kentwood, LA. on January 26, 1934. He was a resident of Ocean Springs for 47 years and enjoyed fishing, archeology and bargain shopping. He was a dedicated family man, a caregiver for hospice patients and retired from the oil fields.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Rex Blades and Elizabeth Nell Blades, grandson, Blake Alexander Senseney, sister, Nancy Ayers and sister-in-law, Janelle Blades.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Ree Roberts Blades, son, Thomas Eli Blades, Jr., three daughters, Sonya Watkins, Sherry Hollingsworth and Lora Blades, a sister, Peggy Hatten, two brothers, John R. Blades and Royce Darrell (Karen) Blades, thirteen grandchildren, Ian, Weldon (Tuey), Scott, Chris, Amy, Thomas Eli "Johnny" Blades III, Evelyn, Catherine, Jacob, Daniel, David, Patrick and D.J., sixteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 4, 2011, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Community of Christ Church in Vancleave.

Pallbearers will be Billy Canterbury, Weldon Watkins, Chase Rasa, Scott Rasa, Ian Watkins and Steven Dunlap.
