She was born March 25, 1915, in Hutchinson, to William and Jessie Hodgson. After her father's death when she was 12, she and her mother farmed their 80-acre farm.
In 1935, she married Ira I. Corn. They moved to Dodge City in 1936, to Garden City in 1941 and to Port Angeles, Wash., in 1969. After earning a master's degree in education and another in counseling from Fort Hays State University, she taught school, including in Garden City and Holcomb before moving to Port Angeles. Following one year as a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School, she started the juvenile counseling section at Peninsula Mental Health Center. When she retired, she enjoyed working with the many volunteers in Port Angeles such as the Salvation Army, Senior Center, Pink Ladies, Cards for Cardiac and as a reading tutor. She also enjoyed acting and working backstage in many plays at the Peninsula Players.
Her husband died in 1981.
