Richard W James Obit - Hazleton Plain Speaker; Saturday, March 4, 1899:
Death of a Young Man
RIchard James, a highly respected young man of Coleraine, aged 24 years, died during Thursday night of consumption from which he sufferd about nine months. Mr James was a quiet, unassuming young man and up to last summer was apparently healthy. During the week of camp meeting at Mt Grove he rode to that place on his bicycle and the trip overexerted him. From that day on he felt that his lungs were giving away. Gradually he grew weaker and shortly before Christmas he was obliged to relinquish his position as pumpman in the No. 2 slope, where he had been employed for a number of years. He was the son of William James who died several years ago. He was the support of a widowed mother, four sisters and a brother. His death will be keenly felt not only in the family but in the neighborhood.

Funeral notice:
Hazleton Plain Speaker; Monday, March 6, 1899:
