"Luther Virgil Cammack, age 78, of Killeen, Texas (formerly of Coleman County) died Wednesday, June 4, 1998 at Olin E. Teague V. A. Hospital, Temple, Texas.

"The body was cremated. A private graveside service, with James Bailey officiating, will be held at a late date at Coleman Cemetery. Scanio - Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.

"Mr. Cammack was born in Martindale, Texas, the son of William Curtis and Leila Belle Mauldin Cammack. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with honor. He worked as a mechanic for over 40 years which was an accomplishment considering he had only one arm.

"Survivors include daughters, Jessie B. Sutton of Killeen and Ruth M. Garnes of San Angelo; a son, Jerry V. Cammack of Katy; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was prededed in death by his parents and four brothers.

"The family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee Childrens' Home, P. O. Box 295, Cherokee, Texas 76832."
