Carl H. Brecht, 81, of N. Warren, PA. died at his residence, Monday, November 29, 2010.
He was born November 30, 1928 in Endeavor, PA. to the late Ross and Agnes Fiscus Brecht. He has resided in N. Warren most of his life.
Carl was a World War II veteran serving the U.S. Army in the Aleutian Islands, as a private. He was employed with the former G.T.E. Sylvania as a foreman working in the plating dept. for 35 years, he then was employed with the Warren County School District retiring from there after 10 years service. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He was a member of the Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge, the Warren Farrah Grotto where he had served as Past Monarch, Warren American Legion Post 135, Warren Zem Zem Shriners Club, National Rifle Association. He was a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, former chief and life member of the North Warren Volunteer Fire Dept., was a former Cub Scout Leader with the North Warren Presbyterian Church Cub Scout Pack 13.
He had served a committee member of the Warren County Republican Party, former Conewango Twp. Supervisor, served on the North Warren Water Authority, was a trapper for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Loved and thoroughly enjoyed being Santa Claus throughout Warren County since he was 16 years retiring from this at the age of 70. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed camping and in his youth enjoyed roller skating.
He is a man who loved taking care of his family, and babysitting all of his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Smith Brecht whom he married August 25, 1951 at the North Warren Presbyterian Church. 8 Children Jim R. Becht and wife, Wendy of Crossville, TN., Rick R. Brecht of Warren, PA., Mark A. Brecht of Warren, PA., Carla J. Brecht Steinhauser and husband, Chris of Warren, PA., D. Chris Brecht and wife, Cyndi of Lake Jackson, TX., Jill M. Brecht Garrett and husband, David of Fairview Park, Ohio, Joel E. Brecht of Elysburg, PA., Jess O. Brecht and wife, Katherine of Mulkeoteo, WA., 7 Grandchildren and 3 Greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers John C., Gene and James T. Brecht, 3 Sisters Mary E. Betts, June Lowers, Josie Furgeson.
