Once married, she moved with her new husband to Fort Leonardwood, MO where her two children were born while her husband trained at the U.S. Army training facility nearby. Once he was discharged from the Army, they moved back to the Fargo area where she was a housewife and mother until 1974 when they moved to Devils Lake, ND.

While raising her children, she worked as the "friendly neighborhood" drive-up teller at Ramsey National Bank for many years. You would remember her as the one with the friendly smile.

She was very active with the Lake Region Skating Club and even participated in several ice skating shows. She would practice all the time and even had some skating time with her grandchildren. She also spent a lot of time with her Dad, Maurice, taking care of the horses and garden. She loved to ride and rode in several parades with her family. She loved family gatherings at the lake and being with her grandchildren. She liked to play canasta, read love stories, sew and do needlepoint.

Bonnie is survived by her two children: Jackie (Chris) Grosz of Minot, ND and Greg (Shari) Zeis of Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren: Jacob Grosz and Alexis and Mikayla Zeis; her brothers and sisters: Sharon Faul of Devils Lake ND, Thomas (Sheila) Howatt of Seattle, WA, Jerry (Patty) Howatt of Langdon, ND, Lori Howatt of Devils Lake, ND, Rod (Connie) Howatt of Langdon, ND, Shawn (Bonnie) Howatt of Starkweather, ND, Susie (Mark) Estenson of Devils Lake, ND and Mark (Theresa) Howatt of Omaha, NE.
