History of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania -1917Jacob E. Steckel, third son of Solomon, Jr., was born March 16, 1836, at Egypt, and died in August, 1909. He was a blacksmith in early life and later farmed a tract he owned near Laury's. In his later years he lived retired at Egypt, where he was a member of the Reformed church. He married Eliza, daughter of Abraham Frantz and had eight children: Asaba; Theodore, who died at Cementon; Francis, of Egypt; Robert, of Cementon; Lillie, wife of Valentine Burger, of Quinter, Kan.; Victoria, wife of Joel Yohe, of Allentown; Rosa, wife of Owen Ebert and Catharine, wife of Chas. Diehl.
