Sigurdson was one of five people killed Thursday by Carey Hal Dyess, 73, in a shooting spree before Dyess turned the gun on himself, taking his own life. The other victims were Jerrold Shelley, 62; Cindy Finney and Henry Scott Finney, 76; and James P. Simpson, 75.
Her friend, Linda Kay Clatone, 52, was wounded and flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. She is in critical but stable condition.
Sigurdson, 61, is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alexandria and Ken Abadie, and two grandchildren, Gwedolyn and Mason.
Sigurdson operated her own upholstery shop in Burley, Wash., for many years, according to the obituary. "She was always there for her friends and family in thoughtful ways and loved her daughter very much."
