Jacob S. Seaver was born on or about June 14, 1814 (per Seaver Family bible) in newly formed Scott County, Virginia. He is the son of Jacbo Seaver and Esther Croberger. He married Emeline Beach on September 16, 1838 in Ripley County, Indiana. To this union were born 10 children being Greenberry Joel, Eliza E., Harriet Ann, Joseph, Malinda, John, Jacob W., Mahala, Emmaline and Evaline Seaver. Jacob was an early settler of Prairie Township, Jewell County, Kansas. His family settling here in the early 1870's from Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa. He died May 28, 1883 at the home of his son Jacob W. Seaver in Prairie Township (southwest of Randall).
Per obituary in the Jewell County Republican, Jacob Seaver was buried in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery. There is no gravestone.
